CAMPING

It has been such a busy summer that we haven't really been able to squeeze in many leisurely activities. With the long weekend we jumped at the opportunity to round up the gear and head out camping. We woke up Saturday and headed up to Henry's for some fishin'.
Gav's first boat ride - he is a huge fan!!
Good thing the boys caught some fish since that was going to be dinner on Sunday. (don't worry, I packed an extra meal "just in case")

Our campsite was right on the Island Park Reservoir. The kids stayed pretty entertained by throwing rocks into the water.

Gav will not touch a worm if we find one in our yard. He watched Cade put a worm on his hook for some fishing and then we couldn't keep Gav out of 'em.

Gav tryin' his luck with his lightning mcqueen pole.

Our camping partners in crime - the Johnson's

We found a trail down a small canyon and hiked to a beautiful spot on the river.

The hike was a little steep for the kiddos.

We enjoyed some 4-wheelin' and exploring the trails.

We finished things off with feeding the fish at Big Springs. They weren't very hungry though.
We actually packed things up a day earlier than planned. The national weather service said there were severe thunderstorms headed our way, and it started getting really cold. So after Cade cooked up the fish for dinner we packed up camp in the rain and headed home. The Johnson's came over for some late night mario kart and settlers. All in all it was a great weekend and we can't wait to do it again.
