memories

It was just two leap years ago (eight years ago) today when I had my rediculous accident snowboarding at Kelly Canyon. After a trip to the ER for x-rays and a CT scan I found out my jaw was broken and was scheduled for surgery first thing the next morning. First the surgeon removed my wisdom tooth so he could actually wire my bone together, and then I was lucky enough to have my jaw wired shut for two solid months. My mom became quite a pro with the blender. For Sunday dinner everyone would have a big plate full of food, I would have 4-5 mugs with straws in front of me filled with foods such as blended mashed potatoes and gravy, blended peas, blended fruit, etc. (you get the idea) After the pain was gone a couple of weeks into it, it really wasn't too bad. I got the hang of talking, yawning, and sneezing all with my mouth closed. However, I was a little limited on brushing my teeth. I would definately rinse with mouthwash multiple times a day, and constantly pop a tictac or breath mint. I'm sure I still had bad breath, but what's a girl to do? Oh, the memories!

Geez, that just sounds horrible. The mental pictures of that ordeal is even worse. Didn't Sesh have her mouth wired in 7th grade? I don't know how you guys have survived that. I know have something else to be thankful for.

Yikes, I had no idea you had to go through that. It makes me appreciate a jaw that works.
